Entitled En saencheur flechey: Métis Fingerweaving, the Gabriel Dumont Institute is proud to present Part Three of our Métis Womenʼs Traditional Art Series. Join artist and teacher Penny Condon as she instructs grades 7 and 8 students from St. Frances School in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in making a sash and in the art of fingerweaving. This video will prove to be a valuable classroom resource as it provides a brief historical overview of the many uses of the sash as well as in-depth demonstrations and step-by-step instructions on how to fingerweave a Métis sash.
