This is an image of an embroidered children’s coat that was donated to the Gabriel Dumont Institute by Debra Willis in 2025. It was part of the collection owned by her late father, Doug Johnson, the manager of Calgary Tourism and Convention Association from 1958 to 1980. The coat itself is fringed, is fur lined and is made of buckskin and it is embroidered and includes a prairie rose motif. This item was collected from Calgary or somewhere else in southern Alberta. The original artisan is unknown. |
